What is a Personal Chef

What is a Personal Chef?

Personal Chefs cook for several different clients or families.  If you hire a good personal chef the meals should only get better as the chef understands more about what the family enjoys eating after every meal.  This is not the typical relationship that you have with takeout, dining in or pre-made grocery meals. It is about adapting to each family's needs and understanding what works for some families might not work for others. Many want old-fashioned "comfort" foods. If a client dislikes garlic or cheese for example, I can take it out of a recipe.  If the client wants low-fat food or only organics I can do that too.  Many people are becoming aware of how a personal chef can really enhance their well being and lifestyle just by taking a lot of stress out of their lives. People are coming to grips with the fact that their lives are too busy and stressful to take care of themselves and personal chef services can help.  Personal chefs aren’t just for the rich. They’re becoming more common in many middle class homes because of affordability, convenience and high quality food. From shopping and cleaning to cooking I do it all. Some people would rather eat dinner at home. I am one of those people who are greatly disappointed with restaurant meals and prices.

I have kids so while I want a nice meal most nights and I don’t want the hassle of “kids in public”. Parents know what I am talking about! When families get home they find a meal ready for the evening, as well as a refrigerator with future dinners, each of which includes instructions for reheating. The process can save clients many hours a week in shopping, preparation, cooking and cleanup time.  I'll make complicated recipes that will take more than 20 minutes to make. Most people don’t have the time. Just look at what the family is spending on groceries, dining out, fast food and prepared meals and the quality of that food. You might realize the costs are comparable to that of a personal chef, and my quality is better. At the end of a hard day of getting the kids off to school, a hard days work and commute no one has time to cook. The kids want parental attention. Whats for dinner? There are many questions families have before hiring someone to cook for them: Would it be worth the expense? How tasty would the food be? Will they be viewed as pretentious from friends? There is much time to gain from not rushing around every night to pull something together to eat. These days, personal chefs are chopping, mixing and baking for everyone- busy families with no time to cook, single people who don't know a steamer from a strainer, professional couples working long hours and seniors who can't or don't want to battle grocery store lines and hoist heavy pots anymore. For families, It's good for the kids because it allows more time with them and just time in general to do other things. The fee for a personal chef service is affordable when compared to dining out. Most importantly, the service allows families more time at the end of a busy day. "I don't have time to cook. I don't like to cook. I don't want to cook," clients say.
